For our first POOLcast spring edition of the year we have a collector set from our POOL founder Frank Bogdanowitz aka Dr.Nojoke for you. The foundation of this set consisting of Dub-Techno, Ambient, Jazz and Experimental creates a mixture of reflection and hope, which almost magically pulls the listener out of the moment.
A welcome break, as the moment is only a small fraction of our existence. Yet only the moment seems to make our existence truly tangible. Constantly we make plans and explore our memories, reflect on decisions and rehearse the future, assemble ourselves from the past and shape ourselves for the future. However, it is the moment that seems to determine everything and can distort everything we have experienced and planned beyond any recognition. This results in a dichotomy between the Acting Self and the Thinking Self that raises the question, what defines us more, what we think or what we do? Is our existence more than the sum of our actions? Isn't there also a Timeless Self that emerges from past and future moments and thus creates the momentary or is the moment the actual 'being' ?
